The Hong Kong Observatory has warned that as Tropical Dolphin moves toward the Zhejiang region, its outer subsiding air will continue to bring extreme scorching weather to the city today and tomorrow (Aug. 9–10), with temperatures in some areas reaching 37°C or above. The intense heat is expected to persist through the middle of this week.

According to the Observatory, Hong Kong will be generally fine today with extremely hot conditions during the day. Maximum temperatures in the urban areas are forecast to reach around 36°C, while the New Territories could see readings two to three degrees higher, with places such as Sheung Shui and Shek Kong expected to hit 38°C.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant against the prolonged extreme heat, monitor their physical well-being, stay well-hydrated, and take adequate sunstroke-prevention measures. Residents are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities and seek medical attention promptly if they feel unwell.
