Typhoon Noul has steadily moved into the interior of Guangdong, continuing to distance itself from Hong Kong and weaken. The Observatory replaced the signal with the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 12:40 pm today (July 26).

The Observatory reminded that under the influence of the outer rainbands associated with Noul, the city will continue to experience squally heavy showers and thunderstorms today. Seas will remain very rough with swells. Members of the public are advised to remain vigilant, stay away from the shoreline, and cease all water activities.

Affected by Typhoon Noul, the Observatory issued the No. 8 Northwest Gale or Storm Signal at 10:10 pm on July 25, and upgraded it to the No. 9 Gale or Storm Signal at 1:10 am today. After the No. 9 signal remained in effect for six hours, the Observatory downgraded to the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal at 7:10 am this morning.
