A 64-year-old Citybus driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a bus carrying passengers crashed into a roadside barrier on Tuen Mun Road on Tuesday morning (July 21), injuring 11 people.

The accident occurred at around 8 a.m. when a Route 952P Citybus travelling towards Kowloon allegedly lost control and struck a crash barrier near Bellagio in Sham Tseng.

The impact damaged the left front section and side of the bus, shattering several windows. Multiple passengers were injured after being struck by flying glass fragments or thrown by the force of the collision.

Police cordoned off the scene while emergency responders assisted passengers in evacuating the bus one by one. Paramedics treated the injured at the scene before sending 11 people—10 women and one man—to Yan Chai Hospital by ambulance.

Following an initial investigation, police arrested the 64-year-old driver, surnamed Ling, on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The crash led to the temporary closure of part of the road, causing severe traffic congestion until the affected section was reopened and traffic gradually returned to normal.
