DSE | 3 top scorers in first place: Super top scorer Skye Wong says 'HK is where I grew up'

The results of the 2026 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) were released today (15 July). This year's examination saw a record-high 24 top scorers, comprising 14 boys and 10 girls. Three schools have confirmed their first-ever HKDSE top scorers.

Super top scorer: Hong Kong is where I grew up

Po Leung Kuk Laws Foundation College has nurtured super top scorer Mr Skye Wong this year. He attained Level 5** in all six subjects, covering the three core subjects as well as ICT, Physics and Chemistry, plus Level 5** in the Extended Mathematics module.

Wong has long set his heart on a career in medicine and will enrol in the Global Health Care Leaders Program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. "Doctors dedicate their lives to saving lives. I hope to ease their pain and physical suffering," he said.

Explaining his choice to study in Hong Kong, he remarked, "Hong Kong is the city where I was born and raised. I am familiar with this place. I plan to serve Hong Kong after graduation. This city has provided me with abundant resources to grow, and I want to contribute to local healthcare here."

HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School has produced its first female top scorer this year, Miss Lau, who turns 17 today. A gifted student, she skipped Form Six and proceeded directly to Form Seven. Her first-choice programme is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and she plans to pursue her career in Hong Kong after graduation.

Shatin Tsung Tsin Secondary School also welcomed its maiden HKDSE top scorer, Cheng. He shared that when he entered Form One, his academic performance ranked among the bottom 90 students in his year. With consistent progress, he staged an inspiring turnaround to become the school's first-ever DSE top scorer. He hopes to secure an offer to study medicine.
