July 1 marks the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's reunification with China, and Sha Tin Racecourse held the "Reunification Raceday" to celebrate with the public.
The day featured 11 races, and the highlight "Hong Kong Reunification Cup" was won by "Ka Ying Attack" (No. 9), ridden by jockey Poon.
In addition to the competition, the event included performances at the entrance stage, including songs like "I Love You, China" and "Pearl of the Orient."
Visitors also showed strong enthusiasm: tourists from the US and Australia said the city's celebration atmosphere felt very lively and, compared with five years ago, much more friendly and welcoming. Locals were willing to chat in English, offered extra gifts, and even helped with photo requests during the trip.
