July 1 marks the 29th anniversary of the founding of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region — a day filled with celebrations, the government and various sectors of the community will roll out a series of special offers and activities covering public transport, culture, arts and leisure, dining, and consumer spending.
We hit the streets to ask foreigners in Hong Kong what this day means. Some knew it inside out; others had no idea. But regardless of their awareness, they all had one thing in common — they were more than happy to share their heartfelt wishes for Hong Kong. From hopes for the city's future to the one thing they'd love the government to focus on in the coming year, and even a quick-fire answer on what they love most about Hong Kong, their responses were as diverse as they were sincere.
This July 1, voices from around the world have come together to offer their warmest wishes to Hong Kong. Let's hear what they have to say.
