The 7th typhoon of the year, Mekkhala, is approaching the southeastern waters of China's Taiwan. The National Meteorological Center of China Meteorological Administration (NMCCMA) continued to issue a blue typhoon warning at 6:00 am today (June 23).
The Central Meteorological Observatory stated that Typhoon Mekkhala is currently a super typhoon and is expected to move north-northwest at a speed of 10–15 kilometers per hour, with little change in intensity, gradually approaching the southeastern waters of Taiwan. Due to its influence, winds of force 6 or above are expected today in the Bashi Channel and the waters east of Taiwan, with maximum gusts reaching force 11–12. Ships in the area should return to port in time to take shelter.
