A shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in Fairfield, California, on Wednesday evening (June 3) left one person dead and three others injured, according to foreign media reports. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Police are intensifying their investigation and urging hundreds of potential witnesses to come forward with information.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. in the parking lot shared by Sem Yeto Continuation High School and Fairfield High School. At the time, Sem Yeto Continuation High School was holding its graduation ceremony, with around 1,000 people in attendance.
Authorities said the shooting took place near the end of the ceremony. The gunman allegedly opened fire before quickly fleeing the area.
An 18-year-old male was killed in the shooting. Three other individuals—aged 11, 20 and 25—sustained injuries.
Police have not yet released the identities of the victims and declined to provide further details. No arrests have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing.
