The Instagram account "Five Guys Hong Kong" of the American fast-food chain "FIVE GUYS" once deleted all its posts, leaving only a bio that reads "SOMETHING'S BREWING...", sparking rumours of a complete shutdown or withdrawal from Hong Kong.
A citizen posted yesterday (June 3) that they had noticed Five Guys Hong Kong had deleted all its Instagram posts, suspecting that Five Guys might be completely withdrawing from Hong Kong. The post drew many regretful comments from netizens. However, as of this morning (June 4), FIVE GUYS' Instagram has restored six old posts, with the most recent one dating back to February 12 this year.
A staff member of a Five Guys branch explained to the media that deleting all the posts was merely to reorganise their page, and that the news of a closure was a misunderstanding. The staff member also revealed that four branches, including those in Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai, would be launching new menus.
