A traffic accident occurred today (May 25) on the Tsing Kwai Highway towards the airport, involving a bus and two maintenance trucks. 24 people were reportedly injured. The bus involved was a KMB route 960. The bus driver was initially trapped, and most of the injured were bus passengers. Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene for rescue.
Dash cam footage of the crash has been released, showing that the KMB bus did not slow down and crashed directly into an arrow sign maintenance truck in the middle of the road, pushing it forward several parking spaces. A person standing in front narrowly avoided being hit, sprinting across two lanes to reach the central divider in time to escape and save their life. The bus then continued forward and collided with another arrow sign maintenance truck before finally coming to a stop.
As the footage progresses, it can be seen that, ahead of the maintenance trucks' section of the road, there was originally a truck and a bus stopped in the middle of the carriageway.
