The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway has recently optimized its discounted ticket system, which will be gradually implemented starting from May 15, 2026. Regarding the Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity line, the new "30-day regular ticket" (monthly pass) offers the lowest discount of 5.4%, while the new "90-day trip pass" offers approximately 7.7% discount. Frequent commuters can save up to RMB 1,728 per month. For the cross boundary high-speed rail, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong line has added a discount from Guangzhou Xintang Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, with the highest discount of 6.8%, and a single trip can save up to RMB 58.9.

In addition, there have been adjustments to the ticket purchasing and travel rules: The deadline for purchasing tickets for departures from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station through 12306 has been extended from 45 minutes before departure to 30 minutes; children's tickets are no longer simply calculated at 50% of the published price, but are priced based on seat grades instead. For example, second-class seats are priced at 50% of the actual fare, and business-class seats at 80%. The old 30-day regular tickets were removed on May 15, and the new ones will be available on June 5. Passengers can purchase one-trip or regular tickets through the "Railway 12306" App, and can choose seat reservation or directly use their tickets for travel.
