With the imminent opening of Terminal 2 at Hong Kong International Airport, the MTR Corporation announced that the new Platforms 3 and 4 at Airport Station, which connect to Terminal 2, will open tomorrow (April 20). Upon arrival at Airport Station, both sets of doors on the trains will open, allowing passengers to follow the signs directly to Terminals 1 and 2. MTR has updated and enhanced signage and will make in-train announcements to remind passengers. Additional staff will also be deployed to assist passengers during the initial period.
MTR announced that to celebrate the opening of the new passenger terminal and platforms, passengers traveling on the Airport Express between the airport and Expo Station from May 27 to June 30 can enter a lucky draw for a chance to win over 10,000 prizes, including round-trip business-class tickets for two.
In addition, starting May 31, the Airport Express will offer more electronic payment options. In addition to Octopus and Airport Express QR code tickets, passengers will also be able to use contactless credit cards, debit cards, or QR code e-wallets to pay at the new ticket gates.
