On May 17, in the second race of the WorldSSP category at the 2026 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) Czech Republic round, French rider Valentin Debise of Chinese motorcycle manufacturer ZXMOTO secured another victory after winning the first race the previous day. He swept both races at the round, claiming his and the team's fifth win of the season.
Unlike the dominant performance in the first race on May 16, Debise faced fierce competition in the second race. Starting from pole position, he engaged in an intense battle with Turkish rider Can Öncü of the Yamaha team, with the lead changing hands multiple times. In the end, Debise completed an overtake on the final lap and crossed the finish line first, narrowly defeating his rival.
After the race, Debise revealed in an interview that his clever choice of corner for the overtake on the final lap was the key to winning the race: "I saw Öncü kept overtaking me and pushing forward. I also noticed that he was getting faster lap by lap and taking different lines. The battle with him was fantastic. At the last moment, I was smart enough to choose a spot where I hadn't overtaken him before, so that he wouldn't expect me to pass there. So I specifically picked that corner – he didn't see it coming. After that, I blocked his overtaking line and finally took the victory."
