"It's like another home." That's how one foreigner in Hong Kong described China. And he's not alone.
As US President Trump touched down in Beijing on May 12 for his state visit, we hit the streets of Hong Kong — not to talk politics, but to ask a simple question, "What do you really think of China?"
From a Dutch professional to an Indian student to a Hong Kong-born returnee, the responses painted a picture far from the headlines. They spoke of open hearts, incredible food, seamless technology, and a country where hard work still means something.
"I haven't faced any discrimination whatsoever," one said. "Everyone treats me as an equal."
And when we asked what they would recommend if their own leaders came to visit? Their answers ranged from humble — "act with respect" — to "Take the tram," "Ride the ferry," "Go to Shenzhen, the technology there is unreal."
People from all over the world are finding a home in China.
