According to multiple foreign media reports, US President Donald Trump departed for China on May 12 local time, accompanied by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's second son Eric Trump and his wife Lara Trump, while First Lady Melania Trump will not join the trip.
According to NewsNation White House reporter Libbey Dean, citing a list released by the White House, the following officials and aides are accompanying Trump aboard Air Force One for the China visit:
Eric Trump, Lara Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, James Blair, Beau Harrison, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Communications Director Steven Cheung, Robert Gabriel, Michael Kratsios, Ross Worthington, Walt Nauta and Ambassador Monica Crowley.
The White House emphasized that the released list represents only part of the delegation.
Previous reports said that, in addition to political figures, 16 business executives — including Elon Musk, Tim Cook and Kelly Ortberg — are expected to join Trump's China visit at a later stage.
