A double-death case occurred in Po Tat Estate in Sau Mau Ping, where a man and a woman, both in their 70s, were found dead in a unit. Police have since reclassified the case as murder and suicide.
Police said that yesterday afternoon (May 6), officers received a report from a man. The man said he had earlier received a suicide message from his brother, aged in his 70s, and was worried that he might have met with an accident.
Officers then rushed to the unit at Tat Yan House in Po Tat Estate for an investigation. Firefighters had to break into the unit. Inside, they found a man and a woman lying unconscious within the unit.
After examinations, both were confirmed dead at the scene.
Reports indicated that the 77-year-old male was found hanged inside the unit, while the 71-year-old female was found lying in a room with injuries to her face and neck.
The two were divorced spouses, and they were still living together.
