According to a report from the National Immigration Administration, during this year's May Day holiday, Exit-Entry Border Inspection Stations nationwide processed a total of 11.279 million entries and exits by Chinese and foreign nationals, averaging 2.256 million per day—a 3.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The peak daily volume of border crossings occurred on May 2, reaching 2.529 million. Among them, 1.255 million foreign nationals entered or exited the country, a 12.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Of the foreign nationals entering the country, 436,000 entered under visa-free policies, a 14.7% increase compared to the same period last year. A total of 531,000 entries and exits of vehicles (aircraft, ships, trains, and vehicles) were processed, a 16.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
In accordance with the unified arrangements of the National Immigration Administration, Exit-Entry Border Inspection Stations across the country strictly implemented the "two announcements and one reminder" requirements. They scientifically forecasted and promptly released information on passenger traffic at their respective ports of entry and exit, advising travelers to plan their itineraries accordingly; they organized operations efficiently, opened all inspection lanes, and strictly enforced the measure ensuring that Chinese citizens wait no more than 30 minutes in line for clearance; Close inter-departmental coordination has been maintained to effectively manage passenger flow during peak periods and provide comprehensive transportation support, ensuring travelers pass through customs smoothly.
