Yesterday (May 4) marked the 15th day of residents returning to their homes in batches at Block Seven of Wang Fuk Court. Access was granted to the five upper floors of Wang Tai House and the 11 upper floors of Wang Shing House. The return process proceeded in an orderly manner, and operations were generally smooth.
Through the "one social worker per household" registration system, 140 households (487 people) were scheduled to visit the building yesterday; the actual number of households that visited was 140 (526 people). The average time residents spent in the building yesterday was 2 hours and 35 minutes, with the shortest visit lasting 20 minutes and the longest 4 hours and 9 minutes. Approximately 63% of residents stayed for less than 3 hours, about 24% stayed for less than 2 hours, and about 3% stayed for less than 1 hour. Yesterday, a total of 63 households (131 people) entered and exited the building more than once. Specifically: 36 households (87 people) made one additional trip; 22 households (37 people) made two additional trips; and 5 households (7 people) made three additional trips.
The integrated inquiry desk, established by relevant departments, received 13 requests for police assistance and one report of a resident feeling unwell yesterday.
The 13 requests for police assistance involved residents reporting suspected losses of personal belongings, including watches, jewelry, cash, and gold items. The police immediately dispatched officers to assist with the search. In one case, they successfully helped the resident recover the missing items; in three cases, the units were severely damaged, and after investigation, residents believed the belongings may have been destroyed in the fire; in another five cases, there were no signs of ransacking, and residents were unable to provide detailed information about the missing items; as for the remaining four cases, the police will conduct further investigations.
