Today (May 2) marks the second day of the five-day Labor Day holiday, with citizens and tourists seizing the opportunity to travel. At the Central Ferry Piers, DDN reporters observed a continuous stream of people queuing to board ferries to destinations such as Lamma Island and Yung Shue Wan, leading to long lines at the pier.
It is understood that after the originally scheduled 11:00 a.m. ferry departed, a large number of tourists were still waiting at the piers. To manage the crowds, pier staff promptly arranged for an additional ferry. At 11:20 a.m., an extra ferry to Yung Shue Wan set off, becoming the first special service ferry of the day.
Staff members stated that due to the high number of tourists heading to Lamma Island today, the operator will adjust and increase ferry services based on actual demand to ensure smooth travel for visitors.
