Large crowds gathered once again in Causeway Bay as fans celebrated the 27th birthday of Keung To, a member of the boy group MIRROR.
For the fifth consecutive year, the "Keung To Hong Kong Fan Club" partnered with Hong Kong Tramways to host the "4.30 Keung To Birthday Free Tram Ride Day," allowing the public to enjoy unlimited free rides on all regular tram services.
At around 11:30 a.m., a "Keung To Tram" party car bearing the message "Happy Birthday Keung To" departed from the Whitty Street Depot, drawing large crowds of fans along its route. Some supporters even followed the tram in their own vehicles, adding to the festive atmosphere.
DotDotNews reporter arrived in Causeway Bay by tram at around 12:30 p.m., where large numbers of fans had gathered. They lined both sides of the streets holding illuminated signs, while surrounding billboards featuring Keung To transformed the district once again into what fans call "Keung To Bay."
One fan, Ms. Wing, who currently lives in the UK, told the reporter she had flown back to HK a few days earlier, not only to visit family but also to celebrate Keung To's birthday.
She said she has supported him since his debut, praising his stage presence and strong performances in singing and dancing, as well as his humility and continuous improvement.
Asked what she would like to say to her idol, she said, "I will continue singing his songs on the streets in the UK and follow his call to promote Cantonese music. I will keep supporting him."
