The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) said today (April 29) that sudden showers associated with an upper-air disturbance are affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong.
A cold front located in the northern part of Guangdong is gradually moving south. It is expected to cross the coastal areas later this afternoon.
According to the HKO, there will be intermittent showers and several bursts of squally thunderstorms over the territory today. Later on, the rainfall may be heavy at times, with the city's temperature dropping to about 21°C at the lowest around midnight, while in the New Territories it will be lower by another one to two degrees.
Looking ahead, the number of showers over HK tomorrow will reduce. The minimum temperature in the urban areas will be about 20°C in the early morning, with the New Territories again lower by another two to three degrees.
