Hong Kong recorded minimum temperatures of around 19–20°C in urban areas on the morning of April 25, with temperatures in the New Territories one to two degrees lower, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.
The Observatory said the weather today will be mainly cloudy, with sunny intervals during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to reach about 26°C, with moderate northeasterly winds.
A northeast monsoon is currently bringing slightly cooler conditions to Guangdong, while a band of clouds is covering the coast of southern China. As the cloud band over the Guangdong coast gradually thins, weather conditions in the region are expected to improve today and tomorrow.
Looking ahead, the Observatory forecasts periods of sunshine and hot weather over the next couple of days, with a few showers expected later on Monday.
Weather conditions are expected to become unsettled by the middle of next week. The Observatory said a trough of low pressure will gradually develop early to midweek and move closer to the southern China coast, leading to more unstable weather.
Meanwhile, another northeast monsoon is expected to affect the region in the latter part of next week, bringing a slight drop in temperatures.
