Tickets for the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup have appeared on the official resale platform of FIFA at staggering prices, with four seats listed at nearly US$2.3 million each, according to a report by China Central Television (CCTV).
The tickets are for the final match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Each ticket is priced at US$2,299,998.85. The seats are located in Section 124, lower tier behind the goal, Row 45, Seats 33 to 36.
On the same platform, the lowest available resale price for final tickets on that day was US$10,923.85.
US authorities state that FIFA does not regulate ticket prices on the resale market. However, the organization charges a 15% service fee to both buyers and sellers for each transaction.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 across 16 cities in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Earlier this month, FIFA announced that ticket sales across the first three phases have already reached a record high for this stage, with strong global demand from fans.
The tournament is expected to surpass the total attendance record of 3.5 million set during the 1994 World Cup in the US.
This year's soaring ticket prices have drawn criticism from several fan groups. In response, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the pricing reflects overwhelming demand, noting that the US operates a dynamic pricing model, meaning prices will rise or fall depending on specific matches.
