The lineup of 48 teams for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the US, Mexico, and Canada has been finalized. With the tournament approaching, FIFA has launched the final phase of ticket sales. According to a report by the BBC, ticket prices for the final match have surged by as much as 38% compared to the December sales phase.
The highest-priced category 1 tickets now cost US$10,990 (over HK$86,000), making them the most expensive football tickets in history. Category 2 and category 3 tickets have also experienced price hikes exceeding 30%, reaching nearly HK$58,000 and over HK$45,000 respectively.
These prices reflect official sales figures, excluding resale market markups.
