Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged US President Donald Trump not to agree to a ceasefire with Iran during the current stage of the conflict, according to Israeli media reports on April 6.
The reports said Netanyahu made the request during a phone call with Trump on April 5. Citing an Israeli official, the report noted that Netanyahu expressed concerns about the possibility of the USt reaching a ceasefire agreement with Iran, and warned of the potential risks involved.
During the call, Trump reportedly told Netanyahu that a ceasefire could be achieved if Iran agrees to US demands. He stated that he would not abandon the requirement for Iran to hand over all enriched uranium and would not allow Tehran to resume uranium enrichment activities.
Separately, Israeli media reported that Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting on April 5 that even if the US and Iran reach a ceasefire agreement, Israel would not be required to halt its military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
