According to CCTV News, on the evening of March 22 (local time), an Air Canada Express flight from Montreal collided with a ground vehicle while landing at New York's LaGuardia Airport. Reports indicate that the accident resulted in two fatalities and over 70 injuries, though official confirmation is still pending.
The incident involved a Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft, which reportedly struck a fire truck near the runway at a speed of approximately 39 kilometers per hour. The aircraft was carrying around 100 passengers, while the fire truck had five occupants on board.
The US Federal Aviation Administration has issued a temporary ground stop for all flights at LaGuardia Airport until 1:30 a.m. on March 23. The airport's website indicates that other flights have been diverted to alternative airports or returned to their points of origin.
