According to CCTV News, Dubai International Airport announced on March 7 that it has suspended operations to ensure the safety of passengers, airport staff, and crew members.
Earlier the same day, Emirates Airlines issued a statement confirming that all flights to and from Dubai have been suspended. The airline stated that the resumption of operations will be announced at a later time and advised passengers not to go to the airport. Emirates Airlines assured that any updates will be shared promptly.
Throughout March 7, multiple air raid sirens were heard at Dubai International Airport. The UAE Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense systems were intercepting missiles and drones originating from Iran. Explosions were heard at the airport, and some passengers in the terminal were urgently evacuated to the underground level for safety precautions.
