The family of action superstar Chuck Norris issued a statement confirming that Norris passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday (March 19) local time.
Born in the US in 1940, Norris joined the US Air Force and studied karate while serving in South Korea. After his discharge in 1962, he participated in numerous martial arts competitions, including winning the National Karate Championship in 1967. He earned titles throughout the 1960s, including a series of karate tournament championships. He was a friend of Bruce Lee, who invited him to star in Way of the Dragon in 1972.
Following this, Norris went on to star in multiple action films in Hollywood, becoming an action icon of the 1980s. His notable works include Invasion U.S.A., The Delta Force, and a cameo appearance in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables 2 in 2021.
