In 2026, Mandarin pop superstar Jay Chou will release his 16th solo album.
Following a gap of three years and eight months since his previous album, Jay Chou's new record, Children Of The Sun, compiles 13 tracks: 12 newly written songs plus a special gift for fans, Christmas Star. The lead single and title track, Children Of The Sun, has an accompanying music video lasting 6 minutes 58 seconds and will debut stylishly. JVR Music will hold a global premiere screening in cinemas on March 24, inviting media and fans to view Jay Chou's latest work ahead of the album's worldwide release on March 25.
Children Of The Sun is a nickname and endorsement given to Jay Chou by singing legend Jacky Cheung. The moniker originated in May 2023 during Jay Chou's concerts in Hong Kong, when heavy rain fell over consecutive days but almost always stopped just before each show began. Jacky Cheung specially presented Jay Chou with a mango and a handwritten card bearing the words Children Of The Sun, humorously certifying Jay's good fortune as that of a "child of the sun." Moved, Jay Chou said, "There's sunshine in my heart," and jokingly declared, "I'll take the title Children Of The Sun!" The name thus became the title of his latest album; he also proclaimed, "Let the positive energy continue to explode!"
The album cover was shot at the Chapelle Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc in Paris, which is also one of the music video locations. The MV production team researched 19th‑century set and interior design to recreate an atmosphere matching the video's storyline. Because the scenes were shot at night, nine large cranes with lighting rigs were deployed outdoors solely to illuminate the chapel's stained glass, creating a suspenseful, dark ambience.
