Yan Chai Hospital held the final contest and award ceremony of the Yan Chai Hospital Hong Kong International Student Innovative Invention Contest 2026, sponsored by Tan Siu Lin Foundation, at Chu Hai College of Higher Education today (March 14).
Launched in 2013, the contest has accumulated over 2,500 entries and attracted more than 4,000 student participants.
Open to local primary and secondary students and international teams, the contest drew 400 participants from 59 schools with 243 entries. Teams from the Chinese mainland, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Macao competed alongside local peers. After preliminary review, 78 local and 30 international entries advanced to the final.
Young inventors presented AI-integrated creations to solve daily challenges, showcasing their creativity and technical skills.
CHAN Shing-jee, Vice Chairman of Yan Chai Hospital's Board, emphasized HK's role as an international innovation hub and the contest's role in nurturing students' innovative spirit.
The Tan Siu Lin Foundation has committed to act as the title sponsor for three years.
Awards of the contest, including gold, silver, bronze, and special prizes, were presented, with distinguished guests from local universities and education sectors in attendance.
