On March 13, China's table tennis star Sun Yingsha showcased her dominance in the women's singles round of 16 at the 2026 WTT Champions Chongqing, defeating Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico in straight sets (3-0) to secure her spot in the quarterfinals.
Sun quickly established her form in the first game, pulling ahead with an 11-5 win to take an early lead.
In a post-match interview, Sun revealed that while she and Diaz often train together off the court, they rarely face each other in competition. Looking ahead to her quarterfinal match against teammate Kuai Man, Sun said she would give her all and enjoy the competition.
Reflecting on her journey, Sun shared her childhood dream of becoming a world champion, expressing gratitude to her family and coaches for their unwavering support. She credited her success to a solid foundation built through consistent effort, both in training and competition.
Sun emphasized her commitment to staying grounded, maintaining her strengths, and continuing to push forward.
