The SAR Government had previously arranged with Emirates to facilitate the early return of Hong Kong residents with special needs, including those with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and young children. Yesterday, 14 stranded Hong Kong residents successfully boarded Emirates flight EK380 under this arrangement, arriving safely in Hong Kong at 9:52 p.m. Together with the seven who returned the previous day, a total of 21 individuals have now returned to Hong Kong through this arrangement.

Staff from the SAR Government's Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai continued to be deployed to Dubai Airport yesterday to assist Hong Kong residents with departure procedures. The SAR Government stated it will maintain close communication with airlines operating Middle East routes to restore more return flights as soon as aviation conditions permit, and will continue making appropriate arrangements to assist Hong Kong residents needing to return.

Assistance Hotline Available

The SAR Government reminds Hong Kong residents abroad requiring assistance to contact the Immigration Department's 24-hour Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit Hotline at (852) 1868; call 1868 via mobile data or use the 1868 chatbot through the "Immigration Department Mobile Application"; send messages to the 1868 WhatsApp or WeChat hotlines; or submit online assistance forms.
