The 2026 Spring Festival film season concluded with a total box office of RMB 5.752 billion, drawing 120 million moviegoers over the nine-day holiday, according to the China Film Administration.
"Pegasus 3" emerged as the undisputed champion, grossing RMB 2.927 billion — the only film to surpass the RMB 2 billion mark and contributing over half of the holiday total.
The top three rankings:
- "Pegasus 3" — RMB 2.927B
- "Scare Out" — RMB 868M
- "Blades Of The Guardian" — RMB 806M
Other films included "Boonie Bears: The Hidden Protector", "Panda Plan: The Magical Tribe", "Per Aspera Ad Astra", and the Cantonese comedy "Night King".
As of Feb. 23, China's 2026 cumulative box office has surpassed US$1.2 billion, temporarily leading global single-market rankings ahead of North America.
