According to CCTV News, the volume of travelers between China and Japan during the first week of the Spring Festival travel season has decreased by approximately 54% compared to the same period last year. The number of flights operating between the two countries has also dropped significantly, down by around 49% year-on-year.
Routes that experienced the sharpest declines in the number of flights include Shanghai–Osaka, Shanghai–Nagoya, Shanghai–Tokyo, Beijing–Osaka, and Nanjing–Osaka.
Notably, some routes, such as Beijing–Nagoya, Nantong–Osaka, and Beijing–Okinawa, have seen all flights canceled entirely.
