Kristin Cabot, who became the subject of widespread attention after being caught on the "Kiss Cam" with her then-boss at a Coldplay concert in Boston last year, is set to speak at a major crisis communication conference in Washington, D.C., on April 16. According to US media reports, Cabot will participate in the event free of charge.
The conference, hosted by PRWeek, will feature Cabot's keynote session titled "Kristin Cabot: Talking back the narrative." According to the event website, her speech will address the extreme public shaming women often endure in the wake of negative media coverage, while their male counterparts frequently escape similar treatment.
Tickets for the keynote are priced at US$875 (approximately HK$6,834), sparking online reactions. Some joked that the ticket price exceeds the cost of a Coldplay concert ticket, while others questioned her motivations for participating in the event.
The scandal dates back to July last year, when Cabot, then Chief Human Resources Officer at the data company Astronomer, was filmed in a close embrace with CEO Andy Byron during a Coldplay concert. The footage went viral, leading to public backlash and the eventual resignation of both Cabot and Byron within a month.
