A fire incident occurred at the MTR Tsuen Wan West Station this morning (Feb. 6) at 8:35 a.m. The police received reports indicating that an external charger aboard a train had suddenly caught fire, leading to the evacuation of around 400 people to the platform.

Footage circulated online shows a black handbag emitting large amounts of thick smoke, with flames visible from within the bag. Passengers were seen using fire extinguishers to combat the blaze.

One passenger recalled that while traveling from Kam Sheung Road Station to Tsuen Wan West Station, someone suddenly screamed, leading to a rapid rise of white smoke. They described the smoke as "quite thick" and recounted a moment when they felt they could barely breathe, fearing they might black out.

Other passengers also attempted to extinguish the fire and contacted the train conductor for assistance.
