Renowned director Ng Wai-lun, who achieved blockbuster success with "A Guilty Conscience", is making a strong comeback with his second New Year film, "Night King". The film is set to officially premiere on New Year's Day (Feb. 17). Additionally, special preview screenings will take place on Feb. 14, 15, and New Year's Eve (Feb. 16).
Today (Feb. 5), the production company released the official poster and final trailer for the film.
"Night King" is set against the backdrop of the nightclub scene and marks the first collaboration between two heavyweight actors, Dayo Wong and Sammi Cheng. The film aims to deliver both laughter and entertainment to audiences while shedding light on the struggles of the nightclub's tight-knit community.
The subject matter resonates with the current global economic slowdown and the wave of closures affecting various industries. Ng hopes the story of this fading industry, conveyed through the character Foon, will inspire audiences: no matter the ups and downs, perseverance will eventually lead to triumph.
In addition, on New Year's Eve, Foon and the cast will personally visit Mong Kok to thank the supporters of the film.
