Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is reported to have quietly moved out of his luxurious £35 million apartment in Knightsbridge, an upscale area in West London, with sources suggesting the decision is linked to recent deterioration in local security.
The 63-year-old actor, who has lived in the UK for years due to film projects, is known to frequent local pubs, enjoy fish and chips, and maintain friendships with British royals such as Prince William, often calling himself an "anglophile." He had been living discreetly in a Knightsbridge residence overlooking Hyde Park.
According to The Daily Mail, citing insiders, the turning point for Cruise's move was a daring robbery at a high-end watch store nearby. The incident occurred around 11 am on Jan. 20, when several masked assailants on motorcycles stormed the store, used sledgehammers to smash the entrance, and brandished large knives to attack security guards who tried to intervene. The robbery lasted only minutes, with around 20 luxury watches stolen before the perpetrators fled on motorcycles. No one was injured, but the store remains closed.
A source revealed that Cruise loves London and used to jog in Hyde Park every morning. However, over the past year or two, he has noticed a clear "decline" in the area, with security worsening week by week. Staff at the luxury apartment building were reportedly surprised by how quickly he moved out, with one employee witnessing numerous boxes, furniture, and personal items being removed from his unit.
