The "Hong Kong Holiday & Travel Expo 2026" concluded successfully yesterday (Feb. 1), attracting over 250,000 visitors during its four-day run, setting a new attendance record. Chairman of Exhibition Group Limited, Carl Wong, stated that to help the industry capitalize on the pre-Lunar New Year booking surge, this year's expo was intentionally scheduled earlier, at the end of January. The strategy proved highly effective, as reflected in both visitor numbers and positive feedback from exhibitors.
Multiple exhibitors noted that this year's expo saw strong foot traffic, a lively overall atmosphere, and high spending interest among visitors. One exhibitor highlighted that the concurrent hosting of the "Hong Kong Pet Show 2026" created a synergistic effect with the travel expo, bringing additional visitors and new customer segments. The company reported enthusiastic inquiries and strong sales for premium itineraries such as China cruises, East African wildlife migrations, and Antarctic expeditions, with the highest single transaction reaching HK$1 million.
Another exhibitor mentioned that many residents planned to finalize their travel arrangements before the Lunar New Year, leading to a high volume of on-site inquiries, particularly for mainland group tours and cruise packages. Additionally, some exhibitors observed strong visitor interest in Guangdong Province and long-haul domestic itineraries, with products like in-depth tours to Xinjiang receiving a significant number of inquiries.
