To carry out follow-up procedures for track diversion between Hung Hom Station and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station on the MTR Tuen Ma Line, certain sections of the track require temporary closure. Special train service arrangements are in place today (Feb. 1) on the Tuen Ma Line. Trains will operate in two segments: between Wu Kai Sha and Hung Hom, and between Hung Hom and Tuen Mun. Passengers traveling through Hung Hom Station are required to alight at the station and cross to the opposite platform to transfer trains to continue their journey.

The Operations Director of the MTR Tuen Ma Line, Light Rail, and MTR Bus Services explained the implementation of special service arrangements for the Tuen Ma Line this morning. He noted that initial observations indicated train services were generally smooth today, with passenger volume comparable to a typical Sunday. Passengers were also well-informed about the special transfer arrangements. Announcements were made in stations and trains reminding passengers to transfer at Hung Hom Station, and staff were present at the station to provide reminders and assistance, particularly to passengers with special needs, including helping visually impaired passengers with transfers.

When asked about some passengers still reporting unawareness of today's special service arrangements, the director mentioned that the MTR had announced the arrangements over a month ago and disseminated the information through various channels. The MTR will continue to make announcements in stations and trains and will increase the frequency of broadcasts if necessary.
