Railway authorities have reminded passengers that all newly released ticket quotas will be prioritized for travelers who have already submitted waitlist purchase orders.
According to a relevant official from the China Railway 12306 Technical Center, the 12306 system began selling tickets for Feb. 14 (the 27th day of the 12th lunar month) on Jan. 31. Based on current ticket data, popular routes with concentrated passenger flows include Shenzhen–Hong Kong round trips, Shanghai–Beijing round trips, Guangzhou to Nanning and Wuhan, Beijing to Harbin, Zhengzhou, and Shenyang, and Shenzhen to Wuhan. In terms of ticket availability, there are ample tickets for routes such as Beijing–Shanghai round trips, Shanghai–Nanjing round trips, Guangzhou–Shantou round trips, Wuhan–Shenzhen, and Dalian–Shenyang from Feb. 1 to Feb. 9.
The official stated that railway authorities are actively implementing a market-based pricing mechanism with flexible adjustments. During the Spring Festival travel period, differentiated fare discounts will be applied based on dates, time slots, routes, and seat classes, with increased discounts for train tickets on non‑peak routes.
It is reported that the maximum discount for conventional and bullet trains on non‑peak routes can reach up to 80% off. For example, the hard‑seat ticket for the Z4189 train from Zhengzhou to Guangzhou Baiyun on Feb. 10 is offered at 80% off, while the K4906 train from Kunming to Hangzhou offers an 80% discount on hard‑seat tickets and a 50% discount on hard‑sleeper and soft‑sleeper tickets. On Feb. 13, first‑class and second‑class seats on the G4480 train from Zhengzhou East to Beijing West are discounted to 21% and 20% of the original price, respectively. Passengers can check specific fare information on the Railway 12306 platform and purchase tickets according to their travel needs.
