The new regulation mandating the installation and use of seat belts on buses, which came into effect on Jan. 25, has sparked widespread controversy.
According to media reports, Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mable Chan, will meet the press at 4:15 p.m. today (Jan. 30) to provide further explanation and updates on the policy.
According to sources, the government is considering suspending the implementation of the law or amending it immediately. New arrangements regarding the bus seat belt regulation may also be announced during the briefing.
