After the implementation of the new seatbelt regulations for public transport in Hong Kong (passengers on buses must wear seat belts if the seats are equipped with them), the move has drawn widespread attention from the public. Recently, foreign resident Tony, in an interview, accurately cited the maximum fine of HK$5,000 for non-compliance and stated that this measure is "quite reasonable."

He expressed that appropriately increasing the fines can effectively enhance passengers' safety awareness. Citing his own experiences while riding buses, he noted that "the seat belt would support and help you when the bus applies brakes."

Transitioning from a personal habit to a legal responsibility, this seatbelt not only safeguards journey safety but also fosters a social consensus that transcends cultural backgrounds.
