Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, which was once sought after by Trump, experienced a city-wide power outage on Saturday evening (Jan. 24). The Greenland police posted on Facebook, indicating that the entire city of Nuuk was without power and urged citizens in need to call for assistance. The local energy company, Nukissiorfiit, stated that the outage was caused by an "incident of unknown origins" and that efforts to restore backup power were underway.
Earlier, the autonomous government of Greenland released an emergency manual, urging the public to prepare for potential emergencies and recommending that each household stockpile basic supplies for at least five days. Authorities clarified that this recommendation was not intended to cause panic but rather to "enhance public safety."
