One Chinese national has been killed in a landslide in the western Bay of Plenty on New Zealand's North Island, the Chinese embassy in New Zealand said Friday (Jan. 23).
Several people, including children, have been missing after a large landslide struck a holiday park at the base of Mount Maunganui in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty region on Thursday (Jan. 22).
Heavy rain and flooding have battered parts of the North Island, leaving thousands without power and isolating some communities on the North Island's east coast.
