The newly added "Youth Run" event of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 was held this morning (Jan. 17) at the Kai Tak Sports Park, attracting over 1,000 participants aged 10 to 15.
At around 9 a.m., the "Youth Run" witnessed an exciting moment. Runner Y1109 crossed the finish line with an absolute lead, igniting a jubilant atmosphere as spectators cheered and applauded for all the participants.
It is reported that the race covered a distance of approximately two kilometers, with participants divided into five groups starting at different times. Both the starting and finishing points were set at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground, passing by the Kai Tak Stadium and the promenade. The event did not include rankings, and all participants received a commemorative medal upon completion.
