The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026, scheduled for Jan. 18, has once again launched the "Support Small Businesses, Cheer On The City" initiative, with over 700 small and medium-sized eateries across the city participating. From now until race day, these shops will support the 74,000 runners in various forms.
This year, the initiative has expanded to all districts of HK, with the number of participating shops increasing from 500 last year to over 700.
These establishments will display promotional posters and stickers, offer marathon-themed meals. Among them, ten shops will feature specially designed "cheering walls" for photo opportunities.
Furthermore, more than 150 participating shops will provide limited-edition cheering meals or discounts for runners. Many of these shops are located near popular training routes, such as the Central to Wan Chai Promenade and the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower to Kwun Tong Promenade.
This ensures runners can conveniently refuel before or after training while helping to drive foot traffic to local shops in the community.
