The police stated that at 9:21 am today (Jan. 7), staff from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department discovered a suspected bomb while repairing a stone-filled pothole on a natural trail of a country park in the Aberdeen Reservoir Road. Personnel arrived on the scene and immediately set up a cordon to prevent bystanders from approaching. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was subsequently called to the scene, confirming that the object was a World War II-era hand grenade left behind by British forces, which was safely handled on-site.
No one was injured in the incident, and there was no need for an evacuation.
