The McPherson Festival, an annual music extravaganza held at the McPherson Stadium from January to April, has long been known for providing venue sponsorships and youth training programs. For the 2026 McPherson Festival, the event has invited a variety of musical acts to collaborate. It was recently announced that the festival will kick off with performances by FAMA and Teddy Fan, with the promise of more exciting acts to be revealed soon.
FAMA, who recently established their own studio, "So Fa So Cool", have announced their first major production: a Cantonese stand-up comedy competition, as part of the McPherson Festival 2026. This marks the duo's debut as event organizers for their own show. Luk Wing candidly described the venture as "a business that isn't too business-minded." He explained, "We wanted to test our production skills to see if we could handle being organizers. Fortunately, McPherson is partnering with us, which has solved a lot of venue-related issues."
C Kwan joked that his naturally inquisitive personality has come in handy: "I've always liked paying attention to different things and getting involved with creative work, so being an organizer this time feels pretty much as I expected. The only surprise is that there are way more intricate details to handle than I imagined, but it's manageable." He also strongly encouraged all performers to try organizing at least once: "When you know how to budget and allocate manpower, it really benefits your future creative work and gives you a completely new perspective."
As for another highlight of the McPherson Festival 2026, musician Teddy Fan will be hosting his first-ever concert at the venue. He shared: "The show will be called 'BOSS GAME', which means the final boss battle! When I first started releasing music, my biggest dream was to have a concert of my own. After overcoming countless challenges over the past two years, it's finally happening."
He revealed that he has invited several friends to join him on stage, joking that he'll need to bring a spare outfit: "Basically, I really want to put on an amazing band show. Since I come from a band background, this time we're going all-in on the band vibe. Of course, I'll also be inviting my mentors and close friends to join me—it's going to be a fun night. And here's the most important part: all the songs in the show will either be written or co-written by me. Most of the setlist will also feature fast-paced tracks, so I hope everyone comes prepared to dance until they're exhausted!"
Even more exciting acts, including performers hosting concerts as solo artists for the first time, will be announced in the coming weeks. To enhance the audience experience and embrace the theme of "Chill at Live Shows", this year's festival will feature a Relax Corner outside the venue, complete with interactive elements like capsule toy machines, creating a more immersive and enjoyable music experience.
