At around 7 am today (Dec. 21), a citizen reported that a water pipe had burst near the bicycle path and pedestrian walkway on San Wan Road close to So Kwun Po Road in Sheung Shui, with water levels reaching up to 15 centimeters. The Water Supplies Department subsequently responded on social media, stating that they had received reports indicating a leak from a water supply pipe near the bicycle path on San Wan Road. They initially believe that the affected pipe is a 400-millimeter-diameter drinking water supply pipe, and personnel have been dispatched to the scene to follow up.
Some citizens reported to the media that the water supply in the area around Tin Ping Estate in Sheung Shui was affected, leading to temporary water outages and weak water flow, causing some shops to close. The Water Supplies Department has deployed water trucks and set up temporary water tanks at Tin Ping Estate for residents to access water.
